One of my favourite shows on TV is heroes, of which I have been watching alot of recently. The idea that as humans we have not reached our true potential makes the show fun and entertaining to watch. I think we all at some point dream that we can fly or do something supernatural beyond our ability. I particulary like the monologue at the beginning of the show:

Where does it come from?
This quest?
This need to solve life's mysteries from the simplest of questions can never be answered.
Why are we here?
What is a soul?
Why do we dream?
Perhaps we are better of not looking at all.
Not delving, not yearning.
If that's not human nature, not the human heart.
that is not why we are here.
yet still we struggle to make a difference.
to change the world
to dream of hope.
never knowing for certain who we meet along the way.
who among the world of strangers will hold our hand
touch our hearts.
and share the pain of trying.

As a Christian I believe that God has a body waiting for me that supersedes this current one, a resurrected body that is perfected from the imperfections of the one I now live in. Its an amazing thought! We could call it the next real 'evolutionary step' in humanity.

In Randy Alcorn's Heaven he comments that although we do not know the glorious plans God has for our bodies, we do know that we will have a body like Christ's and who knows, we may have the ability to dive like a Whale or fly like an Eagle. Maybe transecending the laws of physics will be a possibility, we may reach out into God's universe while all the time exercising dominion with Christ.

Brilliant book by Alcorn by the way, I recommend it.
